Isabella

When Isabella dances solo her subtle and majestic gests transport you far away into the starlit skies. Her oriental choreography seduces and charms not only by its delicacy and sensuality, but also by her expressions and graceful movements. In her world joy, femininity and confidence reign. Italianne by birth and living in Belgium, where she started her school “Shayla.” Isabella has been formed by eminent teachers such as Raqia Hassan, Momo Kadous, Hassan Khalil, Hassan Hafifi, GamalSeif, Aladin El Kholi, Farida Deida, Rajaâ Dussart. Isabella takes us beyond the traditional oriental egyptian dances with her unique combination of the western world and the mystical orient, such as giving the tango or flamenco an oriental touch. Striving for the perfection which oriental egyptian dancing demands she began by studying sophrology to master the art of  expression and to bring harmony to her mind, body and soul as well as learning the technique for  “abdominal respiration” or “orientale” required to execute the dances. Supported by the dancers of her company, formed in 2004, she continually looks for ways to enrich her performances by introducing bollywood, the sword dance, oriental pop dancing and the dances of the pharaos, etc;, thus ensuring  a diverse programme. In September 2009 she began the “Shayla Associaton” and begun lessons in Paris. With her oriental orchestre and dancers she inaugurated her first ORIENTAL CABARET  at the Botanique in Brussels. This cabaret appeared live in 2010 at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. In between lessons, training courses, dancing throughout Europe, radio and television appearances she is busy making a series of DVD’s concerning the techniques and choreography of oriental dance for all levels of dancers using her unique method.
